Electrostatic Dissipative

Electrostatic dissipative (ESD) flooring systems are specialized resinous coatings engineered to safely control and dissipate static electricity from personnel and equipment to a grounded point. By managing electrostatic discharge, these systems help prevent damage to sensitive electronic components and reduce the risk of ignition in environments where static buildup can pose a fire hazard. Designed to meet industry standards such as ANSI/ESD S20.20, ESD flooring systems typically achieve resistance ranges between 1 × 10⁶ and 1 × 10⁸ ohms- allowing static to dissipate quickly enough to protect equipment, yet in a controlled manner that ensures personnel safety.

Installed as multi-layer systems, ESD coatings commonly utilize insulating epoxy primers applied direct-to-concrete, followed by conductive or static-dissipative layers and a high-performance dissipative topcoat. These systems are typically smooth, durable, and easy to clean, with customizable textures, colors, and gloss levels to meet both operational and aesthetic requirements. Engineered for long-term performance, they provide excellent wear resistance while maintaining consistent electrical properties over time. ESD flooring systems are widely specified for environments such as electronics manufacturing, data centers, aerospace and defense facilities, medical and pharmaceutical production, and chemical processing areas- where equipment protection, personnel safety, and compliance with ANSI/ESD S20.20, FAA, and DOD standards are critical.
